While the aging population in southwest Florida continues to grow and our federal and state funding continues to shrink the AAA of SWFL through rigorous RFP and management processes, continues to provide clients with access to pre-approved and quality assured service providers. Through the single access point of the Elder Helpline, certified information specialists give seniors and their caregivers resource information and link them directly to not-for-profit and for-profit service providers.
The Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida (AAAforSWFL) contracts for an array of community based long term care services within the geographic area of Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hendry, Lee and Sarasota counties. Funding for these services originates from the Older Americans Act (Federal); The Medicaid Waiver/Home & Community Based Care Act (Federal/State); the Community Care for the Elderly Act (State) and the Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative (State).
