The Board of Directors is responsible for governance and policy functions; allocation of funds and financial management; and programmatic performance of the annual plan of Senior Choices of Southwest Florida's. View our annual report to learn more about our agency's performance.
Board members are composed of volunteers from each county and at least 1/3 of the members must be over the age of 60, in our area.
The Advisory Council functions as a conduit between the community and the Board of Directors. Its’ primary role is to represent the interests of older persons by: a) developing and administering and reviewing the area plan; b) conducting public hearings; c) reviewing and commenting on all community policies, programs and actions which affect older persons with the intent of assuring maximum coordination and responsiveness to older persons.
The council includes individuals and representatives of community organizations who help to enhance the leadership role of the agency in developing community-based systems of service. More than 50% of the council members are older persons, including minority individuals.
Both Board and Advisory Council members have a 3 year term, with the option of a second 3 year term. We are always interested in receiving applications for either the board or advisory council. If you are interested in applying please click on the Board/AC Application link to download an application form.
